2009 Annual Graduate Research Exposition

"The Graduate Research Exposition is an annual event that showcases the talent and research potential of our MSc and PhD students. This event exemplifies JMSB's commitment to research excellence based on rigour and relevance. The participants worked hard on these projects and I am very proud of their efforts. I also wish to acknowledge the faculty supervisors, organizers, and technical collaborators for their support in bringing the exposition to fruition. The event's behind-the-scenes activities required great teamwork and was an overall success."

- Dean Sanjay Sharma

The first ever Graduate Research Exposition showcasing the research findings and talent of JMSB’s Doctoral (PhD) and Master of Science (MSc) in Administration programs was held on Thursday, November 12, 2009 in the atrium of the John Molson School of  Business.  The inaugural event used a “Poster” format that provided students in the PhD and MSc in Administration programs a forum to present their original research to the academic and business communities.  The participants’ posters and presentations were then judged by enthusiastic panels of Professors and Executives from Montreal’s business Community all of whom were hard-pressed to choose the winners for the best poster prizes as the calibre of the work displayed was so strong.

In her closing speech, Programs Director and event organizer Dr. Ulrike de Brentani stated that the event allowed JMSB to showcase two important, but less well-known research-based programs. It also provided the students with the unique opportunity to present and communicate their ideas and research findings, along with their real world implications, to members of the business community, for which the students were rewarded with invaluable feedback.

The enlightening event was organized by Dr. Ulrike De Brentani, Professor in Marketing and Director of the Doctoral (PhD) and Master of Science (MSc) in Administration programs, Dr. Linda Dyer, Professor in Management and Exposition Coordinator and Jennifer Muir Assistant Coordinator. The events reception and prizes for the winners were made possible thanks to the generosity of the event’s sponsors Concordia University's Office of Research and Graduate Studies, the Bell Research Centre for Business Process Innovations and InterNeg Research Centre.
